Pre flop, we have a broadway hand, that we will definitely play. Given that we can only hit the 4th nut flush we will only look to hit the flush if we are HU. The pot has been raised and called in 4 places before getting us, so if we 3bet, we are going to be playing a hand in a bloated pot OOP, which is good for our hand in that we have nutty qualities, so we could 3 bet, however I like calling better as there is a good chance we and put a massive CR in on the flop, and we can dominate people, so even though we are OOP we do not mind our implied odds

*** FLOP *** [9c Qs 6d]

Pot 1.75$

5 way, we have good relative position, but bad absolute position. We flop a massive wrap on a dry board, we have 13 nut outs, we also have a back door FD, but the straight is the only way we are likely winning at showdown.

The SPR is approx 4, so we will be getting the money in a lot on this flop, we have 13 clean outs, possibly a redraw if we hit. We do not mind a free card coming off, as it may get a hand such as T7** to stack off to us if an 8 hits. So a check raise is good here, the PFR won’t bet his entire range here, but if he does we could well see a call allowing us to make a shove, they will be induced to making some bad calls. If they fold, we take down a reasonable pot. If we lead here, we would essentially be repping a hand like ours, however without a pair, I prefer to CR.

It gets checked round to the BTN, he can bet here with his whiffs and made hands, if he had a hand such a AJJT he would be best to take the free card. He bets 2/3 pot, so he does not appear real strong here, so I like a raise, if we call it is going to be hard to win the pot if we miss. And we would not like c/f turn. A flat could be okay, but would need more significant reads. If villain flatted with AA**, KK**etc we can get off these here, whether he would be wise to bet them here is up for review.

julcor shows [Kc Qh Tc 9h]

Jubinator shows [Jd Kh Td Ac]

Uncalled bet of $2.52 returned to julcor

With a SPR of 4.8, we need approximately 45% equity to be happy getting it all in on the flop, we may not have that here, against this particular hand we are 40%, therefore we may have been better off just flatting and seeing a turn.

Given what we saw, we can see villain has a bet sizing link, he should have just potted it with his vulnerable 2 pairs, he had blockers though. We can possibly assume that this is going to allow him to bet lots of flops when checked to and he can rely on steal equity on latter streets?
