PLO From Scratch Part 2

Part 2:

4 cards = more and varied structures to hands so we want all four cards to work together to enable us to connect with more flops and provide more outs for us. Danglers reduce hand value significantly.

Position is even more important in PLO than NLHE. If we are OOP not drawing to the nuts, we will not know exactly how strong our hand is given that players IP can represent the nuts at any time; especially if we show weakness.

We base our pre flop hands selection around show down equity and steal equity. As above, our steal equity is going to be dramatically less OOP hence the need to play hands with great SD equity (the nuts). IP we can play more liberally as we can take down pots when checked to, therefore with hands IP with lots of SD equity we 3bet all the time as people play weak SD equity hands OOP and with no steal equity we end up with a huge edge.

Learning NLHE I did not appreciate position enough so I will make sure I do not fall into this trap in PLO.
